The Futara-san Shrine is one of the most important religious establishments in Nikko, and encompasses sites across the region on mountaintops, bridges, and buildings. The Futara-san Chugishi is a beautiful shrine on the north shore of Lake Chuzenji, at the base of Mt. Nantai, with wonderful views of the surrounding lake and mountains. The shrine is particularly beautiful when covered with a blanket of snow in wintertime.
